In a significant milestone for India’s logistics sector, the first double-stack container rake has successfully arrived at Sawariya Shakti, New Ankleshwar — the first Gati Shakti Multi Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) developed on private land along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).

This landmark development marks a new era of efficient, high-capacity freight movement in Gujarat, showcasing the benefits of seamless integration between private logistics infrastructure and the world-class freight network built by DFCCIL (Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited).

The terminal’s operationalization is expected to enhance multimodal connectivity, reduce logistics costs, and accelerate cargo movement across industrial regions of Gujarat, strengthening India’s vision under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan.

This achievement underscores the growing role of private sector participation in driving India’s logistics transformation through modern, technology-driven freight solutions.
