A significant milestone has been achieved at the Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) in Mandalgarh with the successful placement of the first ISO container train at CONCOR’s GCT–MMLP terminal, marking the beginning of enhanced multimodal logistics operations in the region.
The container train was handled at the terminal operated by Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) at Mandalgarh, strengthening rail-based cargo connectivity for industrial clusters in and around Bhilwara. The development is expected to significantly reduce transit time and logistics costs for exporters, importers, and manufacturers in the textile, mineral, and engineering sectors.
Officials stated that the commissioning of ISO container train services at MMLP–Mandalgarh will facilitate seamless integration of rail and road transport, ensuring more reliable cargo evacuation and aggregation. The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s flagship PM Gati Shakti programme, aimed at improving multimodal infrastructure connectivity and boosting economic competitiveness.
Industry stakeholders have welcomed the move, noting that direct container rail services from Mandalgarh will enhance supply chain efficiency, decongest major ports and inland terminals, and provide a major push to regional trade. The facility is expected to serve not only Bhilwara but also neighbouring industrial centres, offering an integrated logistics solution under one platform.
With the launch of the first ISO container train, MMLP–Mandalgarh is poised to emerge as a strategic logistics hub in Rajasthan, supporting faster, cost-effective, and sustainable cargo movement across domestic and international markets.
