Global Corp Logistics (GCL) has entered the Empty Container Depot and Repair Services segment through a strategic partnership with Empezar Global Marine Services, marking its expansion into a new business vertical in Saudi Arabia.

Under the partnership, two state-of-the-art empty container depots are now operational in Dammam and Jeddah, strengthening GCL’s service portfolio and expanding its capabilities in container logistics across the Kingdom.

Empezar Global Marine Services, led by founders Dhruv Taneja and Prerna Taneja, brings extensive operational expertise in empty container depot management. The company is one of India’s largest empty container depot operators, handling approximately 100,000 TEUs per month across 18 locations.

The company also focuses on digital innovation and container lifecycle management through CASA, its AI-enabled container survey solution, and Matchlog, a platform designed to improve container reuse and operational efficiency.

The partnership combines GCL’s established presence in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and its customer relationships as a liner agency partner with Empezar Global’s depot infrastructure, operational expertise and technology-driven solutions for end-to-end empty container lifecycle management.

Both companies will also gain reciprocal access to each other’s networks, enabling them to develop more integrated, efficient and scalable solutions for customers.

Beyond the initial expansion in Saudi Arabia, the partnership is intended to provide a platform for further growth across the GCC region and strengthen logistics connectivity between the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.

The collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for both organisations by combining regional market access with specialised depot operations and technology-led container management services.
