Globe Air Cargo DR has signed a General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) agreement with Uniworld Air Cargo to manage and market freighter operations in the Dominican Republic.
Under the partnership, Globe Air Cargo DR will be responsible for sales, customer service, and cargo capacity management for Uniworld’s freighter flights, strengthening the airline’s presence in the Caribbean market. The agreement is expected to enhance cargo connectivity between the Dominican Republic and key international destinations.
Industry observers note that the collaboration will support growing demand for air freight in the region, particularly for sectors such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce shipments. With dedicated freighter capacity, the partnership aims to offer more reliable and flexible logistics solutions compared to passenger belly cargo.
The move also reflects a broader trend of airlines and cargo operators leveraging GSSA partnerships to expand market reach without establishing direct local infrastructure. By working with an established local player, Uniworld can tap into existing networks and expertise to scale operations efficiently.
Globe Air Cargo DR said the agreement aligns with its strategy to grow its cargo portfolio and strengthen relationships with global carriers. Meanwhile, Uniworld Air Cargo aims to build a stronger foothold in Latin America and the Caribbean through strategic alliances.
The partnership is expected to boost air cargo capacity and improve service options for exporters and importers in the region, supporting trade growth and supply chain resilience.
