The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has proposed a 105-metre-wide road towards the Hapur bypass to strengthen connectivity between Greater Noida and the Ganga Expressway. The proposal is part of a broader plan to separate passenger and freight movement across the region.
The proposed road would extend connectivity by around 15 km, with officials estimating that travel between Noida-Greater Noida and the Ganga Expressway could eventually take about 30 to 45 minutes. The improved link is expected to strengthen connections with western Uttar Pradesh and facilitate movement of both people and commercial traffic.
Alongside the road project, GNIDA has proposed a six-lane elevated freight corridor connecting the Multi Modal Logistics Hub (MMLH) with Noida International Airport at Jewar. The corridor would run parallel to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) and would be designed specifically for goods movement.
The proposed freight link would provide a direct route between the logistics hub and the airport’s air cargo terminal, potentially reducing reliance on roads carrying passenger traffic. This is expected to improve cargo movement efficiency as the logistics hub and Jewar airport develop into major regional transport facilities.
The projects are being considered as part of proposed amendments to the Greater Noida Master Plan 2041, with the wider objective of creating dedicated routes for freight and passenger traffic. GNIDA expects the separation to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on major urban roads.
The proposed infrastructure comes as the wider NCR continues to develop multimodal connections around Jewar airport. The Centre has also approved a 31.42-km greenfield corridor connecting the Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna spur of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with Jewar airport, further strengthening the airport’s regional road network.
Together, the planned road and freight links could strengthen Greater Noida’s position as an integrated logistics and aviation hub, connecting industrial areas, the MMLH, major expressways and Noida International Airport while providing dedicated infrastructure for future cargo growth.
