    Hindustan Zinc has added 30 electric trucks to its logistics network under a six-year transport agreement with MFL India, strengthening its push to replace diesel-powered freight with cleaner mobility.

    The electric trucks will transport zinc and lead concentrates from the company’s Rampura Agucha mine in Rajasthan to its smelters. MFL India will also establish dedicated charging stations to support the fleet and enable reliable operations along the route.

    The latest deployment builds on Hindustan Zinc’s wider adoption of electric and alternative-fuel vehicles across its operations. During FY2026, the company added 42 EVs for material transportation, taking its green logistics fleet to 232 vehicles, including 52 EVs and 180 LNG vehicles.

    The company has been steadily expanding cleaner transport as part of its broader decarbonisation strategy. In 2025, Hindustan Zinc also deployed 40 electric bulkers at its Debari zinc smelter for transporting calcine to its Chittorgarh smelter.

    Hindustan Zinc is targeting net-zero emissions by 2050 or sooner, with transport electrification forming an important part of efforts to reduce Scope 3 emissions across its supply chain. The company has also set a goal of reaching 75% fleet electrification by 2035.

    The addition of the 30 trucks further expands the role of electric freight vehicles in mining logistics, while dedicated charging infrastructure is expected to support their long-term deployment on high-volume industrial routes.
