Hong Kong Air Cargo has launched a new freighter service connecting Hong Kong with Mumbai, strengthening air cargo links between the two major commercial and logistics hubs.
The new service is expected to provide additional airfreight capacity for businesses moving goods between Hong Kong and India. Mumbai, one of India’s key cargo gateways, serves a wide range of industries and offers connections to major domestic and international markets.
The Hong Kong–Mumbai freighter operation will support the movement of time-sensitive and high-value shipments, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, automotive components, e-commerce cargo and other commercial goods. The additional capacity is also expected to give shippers greater flexibility in planning international consignments.
The new route comes as trade and supply-chain links between India and Asia continue to expand. Growing demand for reliable airfreight services has encouraged carriers to strengthen direct cargo connections between major Asian markets.
For Hong Kong Air Cargo, the Mumbai service represents an expansion of its network into the Indian market and provides an additional gateway for cargo moving between India, Hong Kong and other destinations across Asia.
Mumbai’s role as a major international cargo hub could further support the service by providing access to India’s large industrial and consumer markets. The new freighter connection is therefore expected to contribute to stronger cargo connectivity and offer exporters and importers an additional transportation option between the two regions.
