Ignazio Messina & C. has announced the launch of its new West Med Line, bringing its existing Algeria and Libya services together into an enhanced network covering key markets across the Western Mediterranean.
The new service, scheduled to commence in September 2026, is aimed at providing customers with more efficient, reliable and responsive shipping solutions while strengthening the company’s presence across the region.
A key feature of the new West Med Line will be improved transit times for cargo originating over Suez, supported by efficient connections via Misurata. The service will also offer enhanced frequency and connectivity between Spain, France, Libya and Algeria.
Under the new network, regular departures from Spain and France will be operated approximately every 10 days, providing connections to direct destinations as well as markets served through the company’s hub at Genoa.
The standard rotation for the West Med Line will be:
Castellon – Barcelona – Fos – Genoa – Misurata – Tripoli – Misurata – Algiers – Castellon
The first sailings are scheduled as follows:
M/V Libertas H – Voyage 298: ETS Castellon, 6 September 2026
M/V Pacific Dalian – Voyage 310: ETS Castellon, 17 September 2026
The launch represents another step in Ignazio Messina’s efforts to develop its regional network and respond to changing customer and market requirements. By integrating its Algeria and Libya services, the company aims to provide greater network coverage, improved sailing frequency and stronger connectivity throughout the Western Mediterranean.
The enhanced service is expected to strengthen trade links between the Spanish, French, Libyan and Algerian markets, while offering customers additional options for moving cargo between the Western Mediterranean and destinations connected through the company’s network.
With the introduction of the West Med Line, Ignazio Messina is positioning the service as a more integrated regional shipping solution, combining network expansion with a focus on efficiency, reliability and tailored logistics connectivity.
