The Indian government has expanded the network of designated entry points for foreign nationals holding Indian e-Visas by adding nine land immigration check posts and two additional airports.
The move is aimed at making travel to India more convenient for international visitors by providing e-Visa holders with more options to enter the country. The expansion is expected to particularly benefit travellers arriving through land borders and additional regional air gateways.
With the latest notification, eligible foreign travellers holding valid Indian e-Visas can use the newly designated entry points, subject to applicable immigration and visa conditions.
The addition of land ports is significant for improving cross-border tourism and travel connectivity with neighbouring countries, while the inclusion of more airports broadens India’s e-Visa-enabled aviation network.
The government’s decision is also expected to support tourism, business travel and people-to-people connectivity by simplifying access to India through a wider range of authorised entry points.
The expanded entry network strengthens India’s efforts to facilitate international travel while maintaining established immigration and security procedures.
