The India–Russia Business Forum 2025, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on December 5, witnessed a significant boost in bilateral economic engagement as senior policymakers and industry leaders gathered for a high-level roundtable on strengthening cooperation chains in trade and industry.

Dr. Ajay Sahai, Director General & CEO of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), moderated the session titled “Russia–India: Building Sustainable Cooperation Chains in Trade & Industry.” The event took place alongside the visit of H.E. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

The roundtable focused on deepening collaboration across critical sectors, including high-technology, pharmaceuticals, engineering, textiles, agriculture, and consumer goods. Discussions also explored prospects for new strategic investments, development of industrial clusters, joint ventures, subsidiary setups, and creation of efficient logistics corridors to address trade imbalances.

Participants highlighted success stories and identified actionable pathways to fast-track future trade facilitation between the two countries. Under Dr. Sahai’s guidance, the session outlined a forward-looking roadmap aimed at building stronger and more sustainable industrial and trade linkages.

FIEO reaffirmed its commitment to supporting India’s exporters and strengthening strategic partnerships with key global markets such as Russia.
