India’s engineering exports are expected to reach an all-time high of $150 billion in the current financial year (FY 2026–27), driven by healthy growth in key overseas markets and rising shipments of iron and steel products and machinery, according to Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) Chairman Pankaj Chadha.
“Last fiscal, the exports were $122 billion, and this financial year, we are expecting it to reach an all-time high of $150 billion,” Chadha said on Monday.
He noted that Indian engineering shipments were registering healthy growth in markets such as the United States. Increased exports of iron and steel, related products and machinery are also expected to contribute to the growth.
India’s engineering exports rose by around 20% year-on-year to $70.87 billion during April–September 2026, the first half of FY 2026–27, indicating strong momentum towards achieving the annual target.
