In a high-level stakeholder consultation convened by Invest UP, sourcing companies, manufacturers, global firms, and textile industry experts engaged in an extensive dialogue with state government officials to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s textile and apparel ecosystem.
According to an official statement issued on Saturday, industry representatives highlighted the need for easier access to capital, stronger expansion incentives, and customised financial support for MSMEs. Participants also raised concerns regarding labour availability, tariff structures, power reliability, logistics gaps, cluster development, and the need for pricing policies aligned with quality standards.
In response, officials reiterated the state government’s commitment to creating an investor-friendly environment. Invest UP showcased the rapid growth of the state’s textile ecosystem, citing improved infrastructure, a sizeable industrial land bank, and emerging manufacturing clusters. Opportunities across PM MITRA Park, private and integrated textile parks, Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLCs), technical textiles, man-made fibres, and ready-made garment segments were also presented.
The state government highlighted major policy frameworks such as the Investment Promotion Policy 2023, IIEPP Policy 2022, and over 30 dedicated sectoral policies covering textiles, MSMEs, footwear, and FDI. Incentives including land and capital subsidies, SGST reimbursement, stamp duty waiver, electricity duty exemption, logistics subsidies, patent refunds, and green and skill-linked support were detailed for potential investors.
Joining the meeting virtually, Amit Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister, said Uttar Pradesh was steadily positioning itself as a global textile contender and encouraged companies to evolve “from suppliers to global creators.”
Addressing stakeholders online, CEO Invest UP Vijay Kiran Anand emphasised the government’s commitment to facilitation, stating, “Invest UP is committed to acting as a bridge for investors. We welcome industry inputs to further strengthen the textile ecosystem and invite stakeholders to visit Lucknow for deeper engagement.”
More than 45 companies, including major sourcing and export firms, participated in the consultation, marking a significant step in fostering collaborative industry–government dialogue within the state’s growing textile sector.
