The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has launched its revamped official website, offering a faster, smarter and more citizen-centric digital experience aimed at improving access to information and services related to India’s inland waterways sector.

The new digital platform was inaugurated by Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen digital governance and enhance stakeholder engagement.

Developed in accordance with DBIM 3.0 and GIGW 3.0 standards, the redesigned website features a modern and intuitive user interface, enabling users to access information more efficiently across devices.

One of the key highlights of the platform is the integration of BHASHINI, the Government of India’s AI-powered language translation platform, which provides multilingual support to improve accessibility for users across the country.

The website also incorporates a mobile-first responsive design, enhanced search functionality, simplified navigation, improved security features and greater accessibility. Users can conveniently access a wide range of services, including tenders, recruitment notifications, vacancies, circulars and other official updates through a single digital interface.

The revamped portal is expected to provide a seamless experience for citizens, industry stakeholders, investors and businesses associated with the inland waterways sector while supporting the government’s vision of transparent, efficient and technology-driven public service delivery.

The launch marks another step in the digital transformation of India’s maritime and inland waterways ecosystem, making information and essential services more accessible to users nationwide.
