JK Lakshmi Cement has partnered with SwitchLabs Automobiles to introduce electric vehicles (EVs) into its logistics operations. The EVs will operate between the company’s JK Puram plant in Sirohi, Rajasthan, and the Kalol grinding unit in Gujarat.

The partnership follows a pilot project that demonstrated reduced emissions and maintained operational efficiency. Based on these results, JK Lakshmi Cement is expanding the use of EVs in its supply chain.

    Industry collaboration
Arun Shukla, President and Director, JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd., said, “Sustainability is integral to our vision at JK Lakshmi Cement. Our collaboration with SwitchLabs Automobiles reflects our continued focus on driving innovation in our logistics operations while taking responsibility for our environmental footprint. This initiative positions us as a leader in transforming the cement sector’s logistics landscape.”

The company said the move supports wider efforts to adopt cleaner transport methods across India. The initiative is part of JK Lakshmi Cement’s broader strategy to incorporate sustainable practices into its operations.
