Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has announced the launch of the JJS feeder service by Global Feeder Shipping at PSA Mumbai, marking a significant step in strengthening maritime connectivity between India and the Middle East.
The service was inaugurated with the maiden call of the vessel SSF Dynamic on March 24, 2026. The JJS service will operate on a strategic rotation covering Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Jeddah – King Abdullah – Sokhna – Aqaba – King Abdullah – Jeddah – Mundra, linking key trade gateways across India and the Gulf region.
JNPA stated that the new service is expected to enhance schedule reliability and bring greater stability to trade flows, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East. It will provide Indian exporters and importers with improved access to critical markets while strengthening supply chain resilience.
In a separate milestone earlier this month, PSA Mumbai handled the ultra large container vessel Damietta Express, a German-flagged ULCV with a capacity of around 23,664 TEUs. Measuring nearly 400 metres in length and 61 metres in beam, this marks the first time a vessel of such scale has berthed at a terminal within JNPA.
The port authority credited its terminal operators for their operational excellence, highlighting their role in enabling JNPA to handle larger vessels and expand global connectivity as India’s premier container gateway.
