Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) has taken a significant step towards expanding its infrastructure with the successful launch of the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) journey for General Cargo Berth–1 (GCB-1). A dedicated roadshow held on December 17, 2025, marked the formal beginning of the initiative.

The event witnessed strong participation from leading companies across India, reflecting keen industry interest in the project. Interactive discussions with senior KPL officials provided clarity on the project’s scope, development plans and investment opportunities, while a site visit further strengthened confidence among prospective bidders.

The roadshow signals the start of an active and competitive tendering process for GCB-1, aimed at enhancing cargo handling capacity and operational efficiency at the port. The initiative is expected to foster robust public–private collaboration and support Kamarajar Port’s long-term growth and competitiveness in the Indian maritime sector.
