Exporters in Karur were briefed on the opportunities and trade advantages arising from India’s recently signed and proposed free trade agreements (FTAs) during an industry interaction programme. Officials and trade experts highlighted how FTAs can help local exporters expand market access, reduce tariff barriers, and improve competitiveness in key overseas markets.

The session focused on sectors such as home textiles, garments, technical textiles, and manufacturing products, which form a major part of Karur’s export economy. Exporters were also informed about rules of origin, compliance requirements, export documentation, and strategies to maximise benefits under various trade agreements.

Industry representatives said the awareness initiative would help businesses in Karur strengthen global trade links and increase exports by leveraging preferential access to international markets through India’s expanding FTA network.
