Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works Ltd. (KMEW) has been awarded a prestigious dredging contract by the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) for “Dredging in the Navigational Channel, Kandla Creek, Oil Jetties & Cargo Berths at Deendayal Port.” The contract is valued at ₹48.45 crore, including taxes, for a period of one year, with the potential for a one-year extension, bringing the total contract value to ₹96.91 crore.
This project is part of a larger dredging operation at Deendayal Port, which has a total value of approximately ₹409 crore. KMEW’s share of the contract is 10%, reflecting its expertise in complex dredging projects. The scope of work includes both capital and maintenance dredging to ensure optimal depth for smooth vessel movement, efficient cargo handling at oil jetties and cargo berths, and dredging in Kandla Creek to facilitate easy vessel entry and exit.
The contract also involves ongoing surveys and monitoring to maintain dredging efficiency. KMEW’s commitment to operational excellence is demonstrated through the deployment of the Trailer Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) to execute the project efficiently. This reinforces the company’s position as a trusted partner for large-scale dredging operations at key Indian ports.
