Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a major offshore contract package from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for projects on India’s west coast, further strengthening its position in the country’s offshore oil and gas sector.

L&T’s Hydrocarbon business has received orders for ONGC’s Pipeline Replacement Project-X (PRP-X) and a Wellhead Platforms project. The company classified the combined order value in the ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore range.

Under PRP-X, L&T will undertake engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of multiple subsea pipeline segments, along with associated modification works across ONGC’s offshore fields.

The second work order covers the EPCIC of four wellhead platforms, adding to L&T’s growing portfolio of offshore engineering and construction projects.

L&T has not disclosed the exact financial value of the contracts, but categorised the order as a “major” project, which under the company’s classification represents an order value between ₹5,000 crore and ₹10,000 crore.

The ONGC contracts come just days after L&T secured an ultra-mega offshore contract from ADNOC Offshore in the Middle East. That project, valued at more than ₹15,000 crore, was classified as an ultra-mega order—the highest category under L&T’s project classification system.

The latest ONGC awards highlight continued investment in India’s offshore oil and gas infrastructure and reinforce L&T’s role as a key engineering and EPC contractor for large-scale energy projects.
