Global shipping giant Maersk has expanded its Africa network by extending its WAF7 service to South Africa, strengthening connectivity between key trade markets and improving cargo access across the region.

The service enhancement is aimed at providing customers with broader shipping options, improved network coverage, and more efficient links between West Africa and South African ports.

The WAF7 expansion reflects Maersk’s continued focus on developing its regional ocean network to support growing trade flows and changing customer supply chain needs across Africa.

The move comes as demand for reliable maritime connections in Africa continues to increase, driven by rising import and export activity, infrastructure development, and regional trade growth.

Maersk said the expanded service will help improve supply chain flexibility while offering customers greater access to strategic markets through its integrated logistics network.
