The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the launch of the new shipping service RSX1, operated by GOODRICH, at Jeddah Islamic Port.

Mawani reported that the RSX1 service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with three key  regional and international ports: Port Sudan, Djibouti Port in Djibouti, and Jebel Ali Port in the UAE, with a handling capacity of 720 TEUs.

“This move enhances the competitiveness of Saudi ports, expands maritime connectivity, improves operational efficiency, and supports national exports,” the ports authority reported in a statement.

“This initiative aligns with Mawani’s efforts to boost Saudi Arabia’s standing in global performance indicators and to promote national export growth,” the statement continued.

“It supports the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub connecting three continents.”

Last month, Mawani launched construction on a SAR 689 million ($183.7 million) logistics corridor linking Jeddah Islamic Port to the Al Khomra Logistics Zone.
