    MBK Logistix Pvt Ltd a non-vessel owning common carrier (NVOCC), will start a fortnightly container shipping service linking Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal Pvt Ltd (DBGT) at V O Chidambaranar Port in Tamil Nadu with Port Klang in Malaysia.

    The first sailing on the new service will start on February 5 with M V Hong Jia 21, a container ship owned by Shanghai-based Ocean Salute Shipping, an official said.

    Between April and December 2024, DBGT handled 653,852 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) at an average of 55,000 TEUs a month.

    DBGT has a water depth of 14.2 metres and a capacity to load 7,20,000 TEUs a year.
    V O C Port mainly feeds the transhipment hub at Colombo Port.
