Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Additional Secretary Shri Mukesh Mangal visited the National Maritime Heritage Complex to review the ongoing development works of the ambitious maritime heritage project aimed at preserving and celebrating India’s rich seafaring history.
The review meeting was attended by Shri Manoj Kumar Semwal, Managing Director of Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL), along with officials from TPL and AHC involved in the execution and development of the project.
During the visit, discussions focused on the vision of transforming Lothal into a world-class maritime heritage destination that will showcase India’s centuries-old maritime traditions, trade routes, shipbuilding excellence, and cultural connections with the world. The project is expected to emerge as a landmark centre for maritime education, tourism, research, and heritage conservation.
Shri Mukesh Mangal reviewed the progress of ongoing works and stressed the importance of timely execution, adherence to quality standards, and effective coordination among all stakeholders to ensure successful completion of the project milestones.
The National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal is being developed as one of India’s flagship cultural and maritime initiatives, highlighting the country’s historical maritime prominence while creating a modern experiential hub for visitors and researchers alike.
