Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has restored its Asia trade connection at Port Everglades, strengthening the Florida port’s role in global container shipping and improving access for importers and exporters trading with Asian markets. The renewed service is expected to provide customers with more efficient shipping options and enhanced supply chain flexibility.
The return of the Asia link will support the movement of containerised cargo between key Asian manufacturing hubs and South Florida, benefiting industries such as retail, automotive, consumer goods and manufacturing. The service is also expected to improve connectivity for regional businesses by offering direct access to international trade lanes.
Port Everglades has been expanding its infrastructure and operational capabilities to handle growing cargo demand, including investments in terminal capacity, berth improvements and logistics connectivity. The restored MSC service aligns with the port’s strategy of attracting additional global shipping routes.
MSC’s renewed presence at Port Everglades comes amid continued efforts by ports and carriers to optimise networks, improve schedule reliability and provide alternative gateways for international trade. The service restoration is expected to strengthen South Florida’s position as a key logistics hub for Asia–US trade flows.
