As a notable milestone in the success story of Station Redevelopment of Indian Railways, RLDA awarded the contract for Multi-Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) on Paharganj side, a vital component of New Delhi Railway Station Redevelopment Project.

This building will provide integration of the railway station with city bus service at ground floor, resulting in a huge relief to passengers coming to the station by bus.

Car and auto parking has been provisioned at five floors of the building and nine floors will be used for Railway offices, RLDA media release said here on Sunday.

Construction of this MMTH will be completed in two years which will facilitate ease of construction of other components of the New Delhi railway station.

The tender for Main Station building, including air concourse and elevated road network will be invited shortly, as the scheme has been reviewed to minimize inconvenience to the travelling public.

Now, the concourse over the track will be single-storeyed with ample daylight from the roof. The elevated road network all around the station will decongest Connaught place.

This project aims to transform the station into a modern, multi-modal transportation hub, integrating the railway station with city bus, blue line metro and Airport Express Metro.
