Shri Sanjay Swarup, Chairman and Managing Director of Container Corporation of India (CONCOR), attended the launch of the innovative IceBattery Rail & Land Cold Chain Solution in New Delhi on the occasion of Japan Foundation Day. The event was organised by Innovation Thru Energy Co. Ltd., Japan, and brought together key stakeholders from the logistics and energy sectors.
The IceBattery-enabled container technology represents a significant advancement in sustainable and energy-efficient cold chain logistics. Designed to reduce diesel dependency and lower carbon emissions, the solution enhances temperature stability and ensures reliable cold storage support across multimodal rail and road operations.
The programme was conducted in the presence of distinguished industry leaders, senior government officials, and global logistics stakeholders, underscoring strong collaboration between India and Japan in promoting sustainable infrastructure development.
The new technology is expected to improve the environmentally responsible transportation of temperature-sensitive cargo, including pharmaceuticals and perishables, while boosting operational efficiency across logistics networks.
CONCOR reaffirmed its commitment to advancing green logistics solutions and adopting innovative technologies aligned with India’s national sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
