Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) has officially commissioned its newly acquired quay cranes, marking a significant upgrade to the terminal’s handling capacity and operational efficiency. The handover acceptance certificate was signed on 30 December  2025, formalizing the start of operations for the new equipment after completion of procurement and commissioning works.

The signing ceremony was attended by AGCT Engineering Manager Ratko Tatalović and Wang Qicheng, Handover Project Manager from crane supplier ZPMC. Teams from procurement, engineering, infrastructure and management across both companies collaborated closely to deliver the project.

The new quay cranes will strengthen AGCT’s capacity to handle larger vessels and increase throughput, enhancing the Port of Rijeka’s competitiveness as a gateway for container traffic to Central and Southeast Europe. This investment aligns with broader terminal modernization efforts that include enhancements to equipment and infrastructure aimed at boosting service quality and efficiency.

The upgraded handling gear is expected to support long‑term growth in cargo volumes and fortify the terminal’s role in the regional logistics network as it prepares for expanded operations into 2026 and beyond.
