In a significant infrastructure milestone, J M Baxi Group’s Nhava Sheva Distribution Terminal (NSDT) has successfully completed the strengthening of its Shallow Water Berth, enabling it to handle larger vessels and significantly enhance operational capacity.

With the upgrade now complete, the terminal can accommodate vessels with displacement of up to 45,000 metric tonnes, a substantial increase from the earlier limit of 32,500 MT. The terminal also now permits vessels with a maximum Length Overall (LOA) of 197.00 metres, further broadening the scope of maritime traffic it can efficiently manage.

The development is a key step in the terminal’s ongoing commitment to offer world-class infrastructure and services. The upgrade includes the installation of new-generation fenders and advanced berthing aids, ensuring a higher standard of safety and reliability during vessel berthing and cargo handling operations.

Other berthing parameters at the terminal remain unchanged, ensuring seamless continuity in operations while benefiting from the enhanced capabilities.

This advancement is expected to boost the terminal’s attractiveness for coastal and regional cargo operators, strengthening Nhava Sheva’s position as a vital hub in India’s maritime and logistics network.
