Ocean Network Express (ONE) reported a net profit of $31 million for the first quarter, supported by $4.54 billion in revenue, as the container shipping line maintained positive earnings despite a challenging market marked by soft freight rates and geopolitical uncertainty.

The company said its financial performance reflected disciplined capacity management, steady cargo demand across key trade lanes and continued focus on operational efficiency. While global container shipping remained under pressure from market volatility and changing trade patterns, ONE benefited from cost-control measures and a balanced service network.

Revenue was driven by stable container volumes and resilient demand in major east-west trades, although profitability continued to be affected by lower freight rates compared with previous years. The carrier noted that fluctuations in fuel costs, network adjustments and regional disruptions also influenced operating conditions during the quarter.

ONE said it remains focused on strengthening its global liner network through strategic capacity deployment, digital initiatives and sustainability investments. The company continues to monitor market developments closely, including evolving trade policies, supply chain disruptions and geopolitical risks that could impact global shipping demand.

Looking ahead, ONE expects the operating environment to remain uncertain, with ongoing volatility in freight markets and global economic conditions. The carrier said it will continue prioritizing cost efficiency, service reliability and customer-focused solutions to navigate market challenges while supporting long-term growth.
