The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has issued a circular outlining the process and timelines for renewal of the Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) for the financial year 2026–27, reminding exporters that a valid RCMC is mandatory to avail benefits under India’s Foreign Trade Policy
As per the circular, exporters holding RCMC are required to ensure timely renewal to maintain continuity of membership and eligibility for export incentives, authorisations, and other facilitation measures linked to the Foreign Trade Policy. The RCMC, issued by authorised Export Promotion Councils and commodity boards, serves as a basic compliance requirement for recognised exporters.
FIEO has advised members to initiate the renewal process well in advance, ensuring that all supporting documents and membership requirements are in order. Delays or non-renewal may result in disruption of services and temporary ineligibility for policy benefits until the RCMC is regularised.
The circular also reiterates that exporters should verify the validity status of their RCMC and complete renewals through the prescribed channels, in line with DGFT norms. Exporters are encouraged to stay updated with official communications to avoid last-minute compliance issues during the new financial year.
With the government continuing its thrust on ease of doing business and export growth, timely RCMC renewal remains a critical procedural step for exporters across sectors.
