Riyadh Air has expanded its international network by launching services to Mumbai, marking its entry into the Indian market and reinforcing its strategy to strengthen passenger and cargo connectivity between India and Saudi Arabia.
The new Mumbai route is expected to enhance trade and logistics links between the two countries by offering increased belly cargo capacity for high-value and time-sensitive shipments. Industries such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, textiles, perishables, and e-commerce are expected to benefit from faster and more reliable freight services through the airline’s growing global network.
Mumbai, India’s leading commercial and financial hub, is a key gateway for international air cargo. The new operations will provide exporters and freight forwarders with additional capacity to connect shipments to Riyadh and onward destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and North America through Riyadh Air’s expanding network.
The airline said the launch aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to transform Riyadh into a major global aviation and logistics hub. By increasing connectivity with one of India’s largest cargo markets, Riyadh Air aims to support growing bilateral trade while meeting rising demand for premium passenger travel and air freight services.
Cargo will play an important role in the new route, with the airline leveraging the belly-hold capacity of its passenger aircraft to transport general cargo, express consignments, and temperature-sensitive shipments. The service is expected to provide logistics providers with greater flexibility and additional options for time-critical deliveries.
The Mumbai launch represents another milestone in Riyadh Air’s international expansion, underscoring the carrier’s ambition to build a comprehensive global network while strengthening economic and supply chain links between Saudi Arabia, India, and key international markets.
