Global container carrier SeaLead has introduced a new Far East–Red Sea loop, marking a significant expansion of its services linking major Asian export hubs with strategic Red Sea ports. The new weekly service, known as the CRS loop, connects Ningbo, Nansha and Shanghai with Sokhna, Jeddah and Djibouti, reinforcing the carrier’s growing footprint in the region.

The CRS loop is operated with seven vessels ranging from 2,200 TEU to 4,900 TEU, offering shippers a consistent schedule and enhanced capacity at a time when stability in Red Sea shipping is gradually returning. The service also strengthens SeaLead’s access to Djibouti, a critical gateway at the entrance of the Red Sea that plays an expanding role in East Africa’s maritime logistics.

The launch comes as SeaLead continues to maintain and expand operations through the Red Sea, even as several carriers have earlier suspended similar loops due to regional security concerns. The company already operates routes such as the Far East–India Djibouti (FID) service, as well as the Mediterranean–Gulf Express (MGX), which also transits the Red Sea.

Industry observers see this latest move as a sign of renewed confidence in the Red Sea corridor, with SeaLead positioning itself to capture growing trade flows between East Asia, the Middle East and East Africa.
