MSC Cargo, the largest shipping company in the world, continues to operate to and from Israel during the war.The company is still providing transportation, storage, and logistics services to all its clients in Israel and continues making regular port calls in Israel without interruption.
Additionally, the company has decided not to impose war surcharges on its customers despite insurance companies raising premiums for ships calling on Israel due to the war. For now, MSC is absorbing the extra costs to support its clients in Israel during this difficult time.
Due to the widespread reserve duty call-ups and many businesses placing workers on unpaid leave, numerous customers have been forced to keep containers at the ports, typically incurring demurrage fees. However, given the war and its commitment to its Israeli customers, MSC Cargo has announced it will not collect container demurrage charges.
With the outbreak of the war, the company’s management in Israel has been dedicated to the transportation of essential military and medical equipment, as well as shuttle special projects from destinations worldwide that are vital to strengthening combat and security capabilities during this period.
