Shoft Shipyard has marked another milestone in its shipbuilding programme with the keel laying of a 50-tonne Bollard Pull ASD Tug for Ocean Sparkle, India’s largest tug operator with a growing international presence.

The keel laying ceremony was held in the presence of Shri Sanjaykumar Kewalramani, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Ocean Sparkle, highlighting the strong partnership between the two companies.

The new tug forms part of Shoft Shipyard’s expanding order book and reinforces its capabilities in building specialised harbour and offshore support vessels. In addition to the ASD tug, the shipyard is currently constructing a pollution control vessel for Ocean Sparkle, with delivery scheduled for November 2026.

Shoft Shipyard said the repeat order reflects Ocean Sparkle’s continued confidence in its shipbuilding capabilities and underscores the companies’ shared commitment to delivering high-quality, purpose-built vessels that support India’s growing maritime and port infrastructure.
