SLL Integrated Logistics, in collaboration with Ceekay Shipping, has successfully executed the movement of 165 metric tonnes of critical energy project cargo from India to Africa, using two Boeing 747F charter flights operated by National Airlines.
The shipment consisted of 113 packages, including an oversized cargo unit measuring 10 metres in length. The large component was loaded using the specialised nose-loading capability of the Boeing 747F, allowing the project cargo to be accommodated safely and efficiently.
The operation required detailed planning and close coordination among the logistics partners to manage the shipment’s size, weight and handling requirements. The use of dedicated freighter charters provided the capacity and flexibility required for transporting the heavy and oversized energy-sector equipment.
SLL Integrated Logistics also recognised the contribution of the GMR Hyderabad team to the successful execution of the operation. The airport-side support was an important part of coordinating the handling and loading of the complex shipment.
The movement highlights the growing role of specialised airfreight solutions in transporting time-critical and oversized project cargo, particularly for energy and industrial projects where conventional transport options may not meet delivery requirements.
