    The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, has entrusted the additional charge of Chairperson, Paradip Port Authority to Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit, who currently serves as Chairperson of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority.

    As per an Office Order issued by the Ministry on 31 August 2026, Shri Purohit will assume the additional responsibility with effect from 1 September 2026. The arrangement will remain in force for six months or until the appointment of a new Chairperson, whichever is earlier.

    The order has been issued in anticipation of the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and has received the approval of the Hon’ble Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

    An experienced maritime administrator, Shri Purohit currently heads V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority. With this additional assignment, he will oversee the functioning of Paradip Port Authority, ensuring continuity in leadership and administration at one of India’s major ports.

    The Ministry stated that the interim arrangement has been made to ensure smooth operations and continuity of ongoing developmental initiatives at Paradip Port Authority until a regular Chairperson is appointed.
