Swire Shipping has announced a major upgrade to its North Asia Express (NAX) service, introducing fixed-day weekly sailings and expanded capacity.

Effective 22 August 2025, this enhancement aims to improve speed, reliability, and regional connectivity across key Asia-Pacific trade lanes.

The enhanced NAX route will operate on a weekly rotation: Shanghai – Ningbo – Nansha – Hong Kong – Lae – Shanghai, offering the fastest direct connection from Lae to Shanghai  currently available in the market.

Reliable transhipment options to the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, and Fiji will continue via Lae, leveraging Swire Shipping’s Papua New Guinea (PNG) Fortnightly service and  Pacific Weekly Express (PWX) network.

Randy Selvaratnam, Chief Commercial Officer, Swire Shipping, said: “Upgrading our North Asia Express (NAX) service to a weekly frequency doubles the number of sailings available to customers, giving them faster access to markets and more options to align shipments with production cycles, inventory needs, and delivery timelines.”

The upgrade represents Swire Shipping’s broader strategy to deliver high-frequency, dependable services tailored to evolving regional supply chains.

It marks the second Swire service to provide weekly connections into Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands, following the successful launch of the PWX in February 2023.

Recently, ONE launched a new door delivery service in Saudi Arabia, offering a streamlined intermodal solution from port to final destination.
