Bailiffs in Russia’s Saint Petersburg have seized a cargo ship registered in India following a court ruling, the city office of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) said.

The Kirov regional branch of the FSSP implemented preliminary protective measures after the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory ordered the vessel’s arrest, according to Russian media.

The ship, with a deadweight of over 20,000 tons, was seized upon arrival at the Marine Fishery Port. An official act of seizure was signed in the presence of witnesses, while the vessel remains in the captain’s custody. Information about the owner has not been disclosed.
