UK-based VLCC pool operator Tankers International has added two Vietnamese-flagged tankers to increase the pool size to 35.

The two vessels in question are the 2010-built Felix and the 2009-built Symphony VLCCs. The former joined the pool earlier this year, with the latter joining earlier this month.

Although the owners of the vessels were not revealed, the 297,572 dwt Symphony is owned by the Asia Pacific Shipping Company while the 298,000 dwt Felix was sold at the end of last year to Phuong Dong Petrol Transport by Evangelos Marinakis. The pool operator noted that both vessels were equipped with scrubbers.

“The decision to join our VLCC pool represents a significant achievement for Tankers International. We continue to expand our economies of scale and network, further optimising the TCE for our partners. These new additions bolster our ownership diversity and demonstrate that the pool continues to attract top-tier owners,” said Charlie Grey, CEO of Tankers International.
