Tiruppur’s textile industry has reached a new milestone after recording exports worth ₹46,000 crore in FY26, strengthening its position as one of India’s leading apparel manufacturing and export hubs. The industry is now aiming to scale up operations and achieve a ₹1 trillion export target by 2030.
The growth has been driven by strong demand for Indian garments in global markets, improved production capabilities, rising investments in technology, and efforts by exporters to expand their international presence. Tiruppur’s knitwear sector, known for supplying apparel to major global brands, continues to play a key role in India’s textile export growth.
Industry leaders believe the next phase of expansion will depend on enhancing supply chain efficiency, adopting sustainable manufacturing practices, upgrading infrastructure, and improving competitiveness in international markets.
The sector is also focusing on diversifying export destinations and increasing value-added product manufacturing to reduce dependence on traditional markets. With continued investment and policy support, Tiruppur aims to strengthen its position as a globally competitive textile and apparel hub.
The ambitious ₹1 trillion target reflects the confidence of exporters that the region can achieve sustained growth and further expand India’s footprint in the global garment trade.
