Automotive components maker TVS Supply Chain Solutions and Austrian lifting solutions specialist Palfinger AG have entered into a strategic partnership to establish an integrated manufacturing and operations facility near Pune, with a planned investment of ₹350 crore.

Under the collaboration, the two companies will set up an end-to-end production hub that will serve as a centre for manufacturing, assembly, testing and distribution of lifting equipment and related products. The facility is expected to enhance domestic manufacturing capabilities while catering to growing demand from both Indian and overseas markets.

The investment will be directed towards setting up state-of-the-art manufacturing lines, quality control labs, and advanced logistics systems at the Pune plant. Both partners said this will help accelerate production efficiencies and improve delivery timelines across product segments.

Speaking at the announcement event, executives from TVS and Palfinger highlighted the benefits of combining TVS’s deep knowledge of Indian manufacturing and supply chain networks with Palfinger’s global expertise in engineered lifting solutions. The tie-up is also expected to foster innovation and localisation of products tailored to the needs of key industries such as construction, infrastructure, and logistics.

Local authorities and industry bodies welcomed the move, noting that the investment will generate employment opportunities and bolster Pune’s reputation as a major manufacturing hub. The facility is expected to create several hundred jobs during the construction phase and ongoing operations.

The companies have begun work on detailed project planning and are in the process of securing necessary regulatory approvals. Commercial production at the new Pune facility is targeted to begin in phases over the coming year, subject to market conditions and supply chain readiness.

Analysts say the partnership underscores growing interest among multinational firms to deepen manufacturing footprints in India under frameworks such as Make in India and Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes. The collaboration between TVS and Palfinger is seen as a positive indicator for the country’s manufacturing ecosystem.
