Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited, has delivered the third vessel in the 15-vessel series of 70-tonne Bollard Pull Tugs to Ocean Sparkle Limited (OSL), part of the Adani Group, on 28 September 2026.
The 33-metre-long Azimuth Stern Drive (ASD) tug, with a 12.2-metre beam, has been built in compliance with the Approved Standard Tug Design and Specifications (ASTDS) framework established by the Indian Ports Association. Designed by Robert Allan Ltd., Canada, and classed by the Indian Register of Shipping, the vessel is powered by twin main engines of approximately 1,838 kW each and achieves a rated bollard pull of 70 tonnes.
The tug was delivered just 47 days after launching, meeting the committed delivery schedule. The delivery marks another milestone for UCSL in strengthening its indigenous shipbuilding and project execution capabilities.
