The Uttar Pradesh government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth ₹4,458 crore with Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt Ltd (AISATS) for the development of cargo and catering hubs at the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar.
Under the agreement, AISATS will set up state-of-the-art air cargo handling and in-flight catering facilities aimed at positioning Jewar as a major logistics and aviation services hub in North India. The investment is expected to significantly enhance cargo processing capacity and support the airport’s long-term growth strategy.
Officials said the cargo hub will feature advanced handling systems, temperature-controlled storage, and dedicated zones for express shipments, pharmaceuticals and perishable goods. The catering unit will be equipped to serve both domestic and international carriers operating from the airport.
The project is anticipated to generate substantial employment opportunities and boost ancillary industries in the region. With Jewar airport being developed as a key aviation gateway for the National Capital Region, the addition of integrated cargo and catering infrastructure is seen as critical to strengthening its commercial viability.
The state government highlighted that the partnership aligns with its broader vision of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a logistics and investment powerhouse, leveraging improved air connectivity and infrastructure development.
Development work on the facilities is expected to progress in phases in sync with the operational timeline of the airport.
