V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOCPA) has recorded an impressive 71.69% growth in windmill blade cargo handling during the April–October period of FY 2026–27 compared to the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The significant growth highlights the port’s increasing capabilities in handling specialised and oversized project cargo, supported by its operational infrastructure, efficient cargo-handling facilities and improved operational capabilities.
The growth also underscores VOCPA’s expanding role in supporting India’s renewable energy sector by facilitating the movement of critical components for wind power projects.
The performance reflects the port’s continued efforts to strengthen its cargo-handling capabilities and emerge as a preferred gateway for specialised project cargo.
