X-Press Feeders’ has christened its first dual-fuel container vessel to sail on methanol, the Eco Maestro, in Rotterdam.
Rotterdam will be the home port for all 14 Singapore X-Press Feeder vessels.
The Singaporean shipping company said it aspires to have these ‘green vessels’ sail primarily on European routes, resulting in Europe’s first network of feeders floating on green methanol.
The Green Finland X-Press (GFX) travels from Rotterdam to Antwerp, Helsinki (Finland), Tallinn (Estonia), and Hamina Kotka (Finland).
The Green Baltic X-Press sails to Klaipėda (Lithuania), Riga (Latvia), Rotterdam, and Antwerp.
X-Press Feeders chose the Port of Rotterdam as its home base as green methanol can be bunkered there.
Last year, OCI Global and X-Press Feeders announced that OCI Hyfuels would deliver green methanol to XPress Feeders in the Port of Rotterdam.
