X-Press Feeders has announced the launch of its new Malabar X-Press (MBX) service, strengthening container shipping connectivity between Colombo, New Mangalore and Cochin.

The new service will operate on a fixed-day weekly schedule with the rotation:

Colombo – New Mangalore – Cochin – Colombo

The introduction of MBX provides an additional regional shipping link between Sri Lanka and India’s southwest coast, connecting the ports of New Mangalore and Cochin with Colombo, a key regional transshipment hub.

The weekly service is expected to support containerised trade between the markets while providing shippers in Karnataka and Kerala with an additional option for regional connectivity and access to international shipping networks through Colombo.

The launch of Malabar X-Press forms part of X-Press Feeders’ efforts to enhance its Asia regional network and provide reliable feeder connections between major regional ports.

With Colombo, New Mangalore and Cochin forming the service rotation, MBX is set to strengthen maritime connectivity along the southwest Indian coast and create additional opportunities for regional container trade.
