The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has renewed its call to maritime states to expedite transmission of data on non-major ports for incorporation into the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan portal, citing “slow progress” on the exercise.
Acting on a mandate from the Cabinet Secretariat in May, the ministry had earlier directed states to submit details of 66 operational ports other than the Union government-owned major ports by July 15. The deadline was later extended to September 15.
In a fresh communication, MoPSW urged Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the Lakshadweep Administration to take “immediate action” to upload the pending data.
The PM Gati Shakti initiative aims to boost infrastructure development and connectivity through real-time data integration. The National Master Plan portal, developed by Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N), enables efficient planning, execution, and monitoring of projects across multiple sectors.
