Haldia Container Terminal (HCT) has achieved a significant operational milestone by recording its highest-ever monthly container throughput in December 2025. The terminal handled 22,654 TEUs during the month, surpassing the previous record of 21,691 TEUs set in November 2025.

The new benchmark underscores the terminal’s expanding role as a vital container handling facility in eastern India, reflecting growing confidence from shipping lines, cargo owners, and the broader logistics ecosystem. The sustained rise in volumes points to improving trade flows through the Haldia gateway, supported by enhanced operational efficiency and strong coordination among stakeholders.

HCT acknowledged the continued support and collaboration of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, noting that close alignment with the port authority has been instrumental in achieving consistent performance improvements and capacity utilisation.

With back-to-back record months, Haldia Container Terminal is positioning itself for further growth, underlining its importance in strengthening regional supply chains and supporting India’s maritime trade ambitions.
