Container terminal DP World Antwerp Gateway has recorded its highest-ever annual container throughput, handling 2.47 million TEU in 2025 at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium.
The milestone reflects strong operational performance and rising container volumes handled by the terminal during the year. The facility, operated by global logistics provider DP World, serves as a key hub for international container shipping in Northern Europe.
Terminal officials said the record throughput was supported by improved operational efficiency, enhanced terminal infrastructure, and strong collaboration with shipping lines and logistics partners. Investments in digital systems and modern cargo-handling equipment have also contributed to smoother operations and faster vessel turnaround times.
The terminal plays a crucial role in facilitating trade flows between Europe and global markets, handling a wide range of containerized cargo including consumer goods, industrial products, and raw materials.
Industry analysts note that the achievement highlights the continued importance of the Port of Antwerp-Bruges as one of Europe’s major maritime gateways. With container volumes expected to grow further, the terminal operator is likely to continue investing in capacity expansion and operational upgrades to meet future demand.
