A delegation from the Federation of Kutch Industries Associations (FOKIA), led by Hon’ble MLA Shri Aniruddh Dave, met Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to discuss expediting the proposed 150 MLD seawater desalination project near Bhadreshwar in Kutch.
The meeting focused on accelerating the implementation of the strategically important project, which is expected to play a vital role in ensuring long-term water security for the industrial sector in Kutch. The proposed desalination plant is aimed at providing a reliable and sustainable water source for industries, reducing dependence on conventional freshwater resources while supporting the region’s expanding manufacturing base.
The discussions were led by Shri Nimish Phadke, Managing Director, FOKIA, along with representatives of various stakeholder industries. The delegation highlighted the significance of the project in enabling uninterrupted industrial operations, promoting sustainable manufacturing, and enhancing the competitiveness of Kutch as a major industrial hub.
FOKIA emphasized that the desalination project would not only strengthen the region’s industrial ecosystem but also contribute significantly to Gujarat’s long-term economic growth by supporting future investments and industrial expansion.
The delegation expressed confidence that, with the continued support of the Gujarat Government and the proactive leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the 150 MLD desalination project will be taken forward at the earliest, paving the way for enhanced water resilience and sustainable industrial development in Kutch.
